CHAPTER 2 – THE MATERIALIST DENIAL:

71. Tradition permits the insistent denial of the materialist along with the perilous refusal of the ascetic.
    Sri Aurobindo shows behind Agnosticism the admission of the Unkonwable.

    பொருள் முதல்வாதியின் விடாப்பிடி மறுப்பையும், துறவியின் அபாயகரமான மறுப்பையும், மரபு அனுமதிக்கிறது.
    இறைவனை ஏற்பதில் உறுதியான நிலைப்பாடின்மையின் பின்னணியில் அறிய முடியாதது இருக்க முடியும் என்ற நிலைப்பாடிருப்பதை ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் காட்டுகிறார்.

72. The premise behind the tradition is arbitrary and pronounces its own sentence of insufficiency.
    Sri Aurobindo is ready for a large statement and an ever-developing inquiry.

    மரபின் காற்று பின்னணி காரண அடிப்படையற்றது. அது தன்னிறைவின்மையை அறிவிக்கிறது.
    ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் பேருண்மைகளையும் வளரும் ஆராய்ச்சியையும் ஏற்கத் தயாராக இருக்கிறார்.

73. The methods of Nature are perfect for evolution but rash and premature for Reason.
    Sri Aurobindo seeks a wider foundation for the higher knowledge – Brahmavidya.

    இயற்கையின் வழிகள் பரிணாமத்திற்குப் பொருத்தமானவை தான் என்றாலும் தர்க்க முதிர்ச்சியற்றவையாகவும் பொருத்தமற்ற வேகமுடையவையாகவும் உள்ளன.
    பிரம்ம வித்தையாகிய உயர் ஞானத்திற்கான பரந்த அடிப்படையை ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் நாடுகிறார்.

74. The traditional method leads to a half-truth and a reckless, presumptuous aberration.
    Sri Aurobindo seeks a kind of knowledge which reveals That itself.

    பாதி உண்மைக்கு, முன்யோசனையற்ற அர்த்தமற்ற தன்னம்பிக்கை கலந்த தவற்றுக்கு மரபு இட்டுச் செல்கிறது.
    இறைவனை வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஞானத்தை ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் நாடுகிறார்.

75. Tradition chooses ignorance and persists in our first limitations.
    Sri Aurobindo wants us to realise the secret capacities of Matter and save that very knowledge will lead us to total fulfillment.

    மரபு அறியாமையை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, நம் அளவுடைமைகளை ஆராய்கிறது.
    ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் ஜடத்தின் ரகசியத் திறன்களை நாம் கண்டறிய வேண்டுமென விரும்புகிறார். ஞானம் நம்மை முழு நிறைவிற்கு இட்டுச் செல்லுமென்று கூறுகிறார்.
