Series IV

401)          The efficiency of the chip that passes through billions of transactions depends on the receptivity of the human skill that types 100 wards per minute, serving as a direct analogy of grace acting through mind.

402)            Thoughts falling still is not a stage of crossing the mind.  Mind has given up thought and attained silence.  It is a stage of mental silence. By nirvana mind can lose its structure.  Then mind enters the peace of mental nirvana. Even this is not crossing the mind.  It is a stage where mind is not.

403)          Crossing the mind is to restore its lost connection with Supermind.  For this mind has to climb out of itself in an evolutionary ascent.

404)          Man does not give up unless and until his strength breaks.

405)          Forgetfulness arises when the physical mind has not accepted the knowledge as final.

406)          For man to choose the new prosperity two things must happen.  One is his nerves recognising the lure of possessing it.2) That lure becoming strong enough to break the present hold of his physical substance on his security of comfort.

407)          When a problem is solved by Mother’s Force, that problem is solved at the level of the universe, but NEVER does it bolster the ego of the individual who solves it.  On the contrary, his ego is carefully eliminated from the scene.  Also, in the measure of his assertion or resentment, his ego comes under fire.

408)          Mother’s Force is universal and it becomes so by destroying the individual ego.

409)          Work that directly or indirectly boosts the ego of another, even when the doer is egoless, suffers the same consequences as egoistic work.

410)          Ego is unpardonable, whether it is one’s own or another’s.

411)          Prayer removes tension; it can also gibe tension when it has to overcome the ego of one who prays.

412)          An egoless prayer is not only answered instantaneously but with a fullness which grace alone is capable of.  It is a fullness of inner growth which is more intense than the one given by peace or silence.

413)            One who has the sincerity to eliminate his ego, cannot fail to achieve his heart’s wish.

414)          The easiest scapegoat for him is the egoistic attitudes of others.  Little does he realise that it is his own ego in others, the impersonal ego.

415)          The hand of the Artist is unmistakably seen in every accomplishment, more in the denial of the ego than in the contours of accomplishment.

416)          The ego survives even after one withdraws from it when other egoistic people appreciate the results egoistically.

417)           Mind that is the seat of ego is incapable of that sincerity.  Only the psychic offers it.  Hence the need to move to the psychic.

418)          As long as man centres himself in his mind, that sincerity eludes him.

419)          The mind that tries to fashion an argument in favour of abolishing the ego is practising the exercise of building it.

420)          Up to a certain point, mind is synonymous with ego and there fore does not lend itself to abolish it.

421)          The subtle aim of ego expresses itself as the denial of overt egoistic claims.

422)          The phrase ‘spiritual ego’ explains the pervasive influence of it.  There is no phrase ‘psychic ego’.

423)          Any method other than moving to the psychic is sure to be thwarted by ego.

424)          The prophet is one with a high faculty of subtle knowledge for a low fixed result.  His is not the Wisdom that can never be fixed.

425)          Rama’s soul can love Ravana’s soul, maybe for purposes of uniting with him.  He cannot love Ravana’s doings.  His way of loving Ravana’s doing is to destroy his body so that souls may reunite.  Only that it should be a destruction in equality.  In an earlier avatar even that equality was not on the surface as it took six months for the fury to subside.

426)          The marvel the yogi sees may be one for adoration or for destruction, since the marvel appears before him only when adoration and destruction have acquired the same significance.

427)          Bhadragiri’s killing his woman and the dog is on a level with his granting moksha to the princess.

428)          The marvel does not reveal evil as a wonder but as a stage in the process of creating wonder.

429)          It is true the power of past consecration is great.  It is equally true that when we refuse to think of the future, it flowers.   Both efforts can be had in the present.

430)          We know just at present what values must be there in us and in what measure.  To acquire those values in the measure of perfection possible just now combines the power of past consecration and approaching the future without planning.

431)          v¸ÄÒÍ® §ºzv¯øhuÀ. Enjoying the delight God seeks in creation is possible when we realize the Absolute – not Self or Conscious Being – in one of our parts and allow Him to emerge as ananda.

432)          We know it is not an easy task not to express our shortcomings.  What is more onerous is to acquire aspects of perfection and be constantly expressing them.  Here the difficulty is formidable because it simply refuses to come into the mind.

433)          When we say ‘It is impossible for Mother’, It does not mean Her power fails there or it is beyond Her capacity.  It means it is a fool’s errand intensely followed by a stupid intuition against his own interest in a direction contrary to the line of evolution which Mother chooses to disapprove of.

434)          The three components of intelligence are adaptation of means to ends – teleological – discrimination and comprehension.

435)          Concentration on the spirit gives intensity, on the psychic, fullness.

436)          As the animal destroys it weak offspring, the collective rises in revolt against the pioneer who represents their achievement when he is imperfect.

437)          Judging a work by its result is to have a physical standard.  In the ascent it is a poor judgement; in the descent it is the highest standard possible.

438)          Anger is the weak man’s concentration seeking height and intensity.

439)          Height and intensity in their perfect combination express as fullness.

440)          The evolutionary joy of the Absolute can be seen in 1) the filnite emerging as infinite, 2) in the positive overcoming of any weakness.  Negative control of weakness gives tension, positive overcoming joy.

441)          The higher one rises in purity, the greater is the tendency to become a puritan.

442)          With wholesome personalities, the greater the height they reach, the more understandable is the condition of those who wallow in dirt.  At that point, falsehood, sin, error, wrong, mistake, evil and hostility slowly begin to reveal their face of God’s marvel.

443)          God’s marvel does not reveal itself to man.   It reveals to the vision of God.  Until man wears the mantle of God, the marvel eludes him.

444)          God is not an austere tapasvi.  He is the One who enjoys most on earth and with the highest possible enjoyment.

445)          God consciousness enjoys by thought or sight more than man’s physical sensation.

446)          The greatest enjoyment possible on earth is what God consciousness senses physically.

447)          Sri Aurobindo and the Vedas describe it as man enjoying God as a woman and man allowing God to enjoy himself as a woman.

448)          Man acquires God-vision, according to Him, when he sees the purity of the child wallowing in dirt, the greatness of the soul of the criminal and the chastity of the soul of the harlot.

449)          At the point where the human sin reveals God’s purity the finite turns into the infinite.

450)          To see divine love in the intensity of cruelty, the inner eye must open.
