Series IV

451)          He who fails to see the light by which the hostile forces live sees with the sense of human sight, not with the vision of the inner eye of the indwelling god.

452)          The effectivity of prayer has a limit, a limit set by our faith.  Consecration has no such limits.

453)          Administration exits by the character of the administrator, a character the restrains itself from seeking a personal gain from an impersonal position.

454)          The gap between personal gain and impersonal power is where corruption arises.  A corruption-free administration is one where the personal is made impersonal.

455)          When government was all-powerful and carried the greatest prestige for its administration, it was conceived of as service.  Commerce was then a field for earning profit bereft of the halo of government.

456)          No longer governments carry that prestige but are degenerating to being functional like the commercial field.  Hence the corruption which can only be removed by recognising government  service as a commercial activity.

457)          Prophecy is finite’s height. To refuse to prophesy is to open into the infinite.

458)          We fail to discriminate between truth and falsehood only when we are false inside.

459)          Management or administration is an organisation that effectively prevents negative resourcefulness from coming into play.

460)          Consciousness emerging out of inconscience is evolution. At an earlier stage consciousness in one tries to emerge out of another’s inconscience.  This is a process by which one gains knowledge at another’s expense.  A prior stage is one has the physical urge to destroy another which is another from of one seeking to relate to another, so that knowledge can be acquired at another’s cost and finally enjoyment can be sought.

461)          This is the description of evolution taking place outside before it shifts inside.

462)          Before the soul reaches another soul, mind and body make similar contacts which express themselves in the reverse.

463)          Pretty face and petty behaviour is the initial combination which culminates as the combination of benevolence and beauty.

464)          The compassion of the higher force – Grace – coming down to lower planes becomes increasingly suspect and at some stage becomes vulnerable  to the attack of the recipient.  Grace has learnt to lie in wait till it is called.  The call never comes.

465)          The divine patience is that of the grace which awaits for ages the call of man.

466)          During the wait the patience matures into joy, joy of self-discovery.

467)          Patience is only divine compassion.  Joy of self-discovery is beyond grace.  So, patience has a long way to go.

468)          Patience – Grace – Joy of self-discovery seems to be the gradation.

469)          One who lives in consecration can never be borded as it requires all one’s energy.

470)          Living in consecration, one lives universally which demands energies of universal dimension.

471)          Living universally, one not only has to uphold that energy but the universe supplies him with its energy.  It always cuts positively, never does it drain.

472)          Rarely do we meet a completely rational person, nor do we find ourselves one.  Trying to become fully rational will be to organise the mental ego fully, because ego is reason.

473)          The long life experience of a thinker is only that outer expression of his moving to higher centres of existence – from the physical to the vital to the mental and psychic.

474)           One who is capable of thinking abandons the outer experience and starts straight-away at the level of mind.

475)          Mental thinking is at several levels.  The least of thinking is with running thoughts! Which is no thinking worth its name.  Concentrated mental thinking weans itself away from running thoughts which are of the surface physical mind.  Physical mind thinks in terms of the past and in material terms.  Conceptual mind thinks in terms of ideas abstracted from material thoughts.  Next it moves towards pure ideas that are self-existent.  Finally it deals with ideas that are extensions of Real-Idea.

476)          Between where he is and where he wants to go, man sees a conflict as both ends are contraries.  When he is able to see both ends as complementaries, his new attitude abolishes the gap between status and goal, moving him from mind to the psychic.

477)          That is the integral vision that unleashes integral peace where evolution in ignorance changes into evolution in knowledge rendering the world a marvel to his sight.

At this point, the human endeavour turns into God’s joy of self-discovery.

478)          The most profound wisdom lies in being fully positive in the simplest of situations.

479)          Such a wisdom is not mental or spiritual but integral and psychic, i.e.evolutionary.

480)          The path, at least one description of it, of such a wisdom is to move from the mental to the vital and the physical integrating at each level and possibly taking it further to the psychic in the physical.

481)          As the last chapter describes it, such a wisdom is conscious, inner, full, universal and integral.  The same is called v›Pő»v¸či in the last chapter of Synthesis.

482)          The nearest approach to such a wisdom in human life is to acquire that strength which by its presence prevents every conceivable lapse, treachery, dissipation while having the knowledge that all these unpardonable acts are only expressions of God’s marvel.

483)          The combination of the wisest indulgent understanding of human folly and the strength of social personality to prevent their expression is the highest attainable spiritual strength in human circumstances.

484)          It is a strength that prevents what it knows to be otherwise permissible.

485)          Man’s perfection prevents the permissible while God’s existence is to encourage the expression of the impermissible.

486)          Einstein said the scientist who has not felt the religious emotion is dead.  HE says science is sterile without philosophy.

487)          Today the scientist confines himself with a vengeance to the finite.  His proper domain is the infinite in the physical and vital planes.

488)          That which seeks after an object that goes after another is not love but attraction.

489)          Love does not come into existence unless it is mutual and complete.

490)          Love’s domain is outside that of ego.  They are mutually destructive.

491)          Love seeks no accomplishment in any plane as it is self-fulfilling.

492)          Love cannot co-exist with any negative quality much less with hate or disgust.

493)          Love that recognizes itself in hate and disgust is love.

494)          Love is the principle, if not a force, that makes involution turn around as evolution.

495)          The principle becomes a force when evolution begins, rather begins powerfully.

496)          Love is the principle, romance one of it powers,

497)          The human wisdom that turns the finite into the infinite tends towards releasing love.

498)          Love emanates at the moment the abhorrent becomes adorable.

499)          Love has the power to reverse or transform the physical sensitivities of shame, honour, horror, etc.

500)          Man is capable of overcoming shame for selfish reasons.  If he does so for unselfish      purposes, he becomes more than man.
