Series IV

751) Accomplishment or strength is built first inside. Expenses, speaking, occupation are outgoing activities. Reversing the outgoing energy is the first step.

752) By reversing the outgoing energy, one instantaneously feels a build-up of energy inside.

753) All accomplishments begin inside. Successful career begins as education. Wealth begins as patiently built-up capacity inside, power begins as understanding of men.

754) Mother gives infinite energy. We spend it outside. By collecting it inside, we achieve.

755) Collecting the energy inside is evolution; spending it outside is existence.

756) Inside collection spreads in the subtle plane. Outside spending ends there itself.

757) External success like Mahesh yogi’s or Tom Peters’ or establishing a world government may require energies on a different scale. But, when Mother gives, SHE give enough for any of these project.

758) Reversing the outgoing movement to an ingoing movement is a process of converting the finite into the infinite.

759) Spending the energy on the details should succeed collecting the essence. When the order is reversed, the project will be a non-starter.

760) From details to essentials, externals to internals, speaking to silence, mind to soul are all abridged in one attitude of the being. It is a shift from self-reliance to faith, from ego to Mother.

761) All these movements express as expectation whose reversal is patience, as if the whole eternity is before us.

762) Such a patience is eternity itself in human attitudes.

763) One immediate strategy for world development is to match the inner growth with the outer opportunities. It is really uncommon opportunities.

764) Man creates opportunities for the next generation or the next era by his hard, unsparing, physical work and avails of it when the externals are ready. Sri Aurobindo and The Mother have brought that opportunity as atmosphere, as the expression of Super Grace. It is up to man to rise or awake inwardly to those external opportunities.

765) Democratic equality is a great social force. In the fields of subtle life and spirituality, what gains significance is the individual need dictated by individual status. Democratic equality will hurt here or will not serve.

766) Creation of a problem-free organisation precedes accomplishment.

767) Orally-voiced consecration is from the surface mind. It moves to the subtle plane when words cease. Full consecration is reached when the words, feelings, sensations are crossed and touch the ACT  beyond the impulses.

768) What do we mean when we say the mind refuses to surrender a thought? It means the highest mind knows this is thought. It also means that the mind has not seen that ‘Mother knows more’ is a more valuable thought. It is mental arrogance.

769) Surrender and consecration are prevented by mental arrogance and vital egoism. The body is too docile to acquire them. It is ignorant.

770) Mind’s capacity to see only one side requires an incapacity to see the other side. This natural state of mind expressing as cocksureness or arrogance is its native endowment.

771) The only antidote to this is the knowledge that Brahman is inside, outside and above.

772) The knowledge that Brahman is inside if not accompanied by the other two parts, only enhances the mind’s self-confidence that is ego.

773) Ego does not form or dissolve when the mind knows the Brahman everywhere.

774) To one who is drawn towards consecration and surrender, Mother gives in the beginning the results of completed surrender.

775) Self-awareness of the Divine Soul is its eternal relations with the Absolute. Similar self-awareness of the human soul is its awareness of its own defects and that they are the inverted forms of the eternal Absolute.

776) The individuality in the regions above mind is being assuming one particular expression of becoming. The same in human life becomes a separated individuality, separated from the being and from other such individualities.

777) The separation is brought into force by division and sustained by inertia in an atmosphere of Ignorance.

778) The path of egolessness starts with unity is energised by forging active relationships with other individuals and the inner being, thus moving into an atmosphere of Knowledge.

779) One who refuses to consider anyone as a rival or opponent or hostile to him and forges an active relationship with them from an inner strength of the eternal Being emerges out of Ignorance into Knowledge.

780) Initially the rival responds by disappearing from his scene, later by offering co-operation.

781) One emerges out of finite nature when he is aware of that inside.

782) One emerges into the nature of the infinite when he sees that changing into aspects of relative existence.

783) To see health as a mild status of disease and disease as a process of health passing into a higher status of health is to be aware of the Absolute in the relative.

784) In the march towards Perfection which remains a distant goal one witnesses the field changing from mean, perverse selfishness that offends to selfishness in its pristine purity incapable of perversity and a potential meanness that is offensive to its own nature.

785) To read The Life Divine seeing everywhere HIS art of compressing ideas in a few words explained earlier at length, is to comprehend it.

786) When each chapter of The Life Divine is fully understood, it gives a distinct impression that that is the KEY chapter, rather the only chapter that matters.

787) To be able to recollect the arguments of The Life Divine as HE had originally conceived is to read it with spiritual appreciation.

788) Extension of the knowledge of The Life Divine to another field of knowledge is extending Being into Becoming. That is the conception of the Divine Soul.

789) To consciously know THAT process is perception.

790) To enjoy in one’s vital that exercise is sensing the relationship of the Divine soul with other Divine Souls in the human context.

791) The selfish man cannot respond with any interest to a work whose results can also benefit in the least measure another.

792) Conscious transformation for him is to devise works from which NO result can issue at all for him by any possibility.

793) Ga]Ø £Ç® GÚ JxUS£Áß rarely realises that the air he breathes is one that emanates from every other lung.

794) The pristine purity we adore is a virtue of the finite and does not exist anywhere in the commerce of nature.

795) According to Sankya many purushas enjoy one undivided nature. According to HIM, it is one Purusha enjoying in the many purushas. In either case nature is one; in the latter purusha too is one.

796) The only true enjoyment is that which generates enjoyment in all.

797) The subliminal preserves that universality of enjoyment in human life.

798) The marvel of God withholds itself from the vision of man as long as he clings to individual enjoyment consummated by exclusive possessiveness.

799) The Divine Soul not only enjoys its relationship with other Divine Souls but enjoys the enjoyment of other souls as its own personal enjoyment.

800) That is the individuality of cosmic universality.
