Ego, Desire, Purification, Consecration, Opening, Accomplishment and Enjoyment

Speaker(s):
Mr. Garry Jacobs
Notes:
1. Purification, opening, equality, grace -- four levels of perfection. Process of transcending desire and ego to open to high power and accomplishment.

2. Receptivity and Opening: Why Mother doesn’t give until we ask? Mother is always ready to give. Because of our reliance on ourselves, our skills, effort, desire, understanding and ego, we are not open to the higher powers of the Spirit and the grace. The four levels of perfection qualify us for highest accomplishment, enjoyment, knowledge and power.

3. Consecration for our own benefit: Prayer is for those who want to ask for something for themselves. Consecration is for those who want to give themselves to Mother and serve Her by shifting from “my will” to “Thy Will”. Consecration brings the highest accomplishment and the enjoyment of the delight of existence that no egoistic accomplishment can provide. Example: consecrating the play of our opponents in a game generates the greatest enjoyment to all players and even the audience.

3. How come the effort to consecrate our relations with others is sometimes rich and sometimes flat? Interference of ego, judging others, opinions, preferences, reactions preventing us from relating to the deeper self in others and in ourselves.

4. Why do so many movies emphasize the problems that arise from marriages between classes? Social evolution moves from fixed differences to greater and greater equality, tolerance and harmony between groups of different race, religion, caste, class, education, wealth, etc. As society evolves, tolerance and acceptance of differences increases and assertion of difference and superiority declines until eventually spiritual equality of all souls will be honored.
