This effort is in the lower level of Buddhi -- Current Understanding -- where thoughts continue to circle and repeat. Stilling of current running circling repeating thought-mind is the principal part of silencing the thought – one of most effective disciplines of Yoga. The persistent effort of detachment combined with an opening to what's above can bring down peace and purification of the heart and vital as well.
