Speaker(s):
Mr. Garry Jacobs
Notes:
  • Sri Aurobindo states that there is no waste in Nature but our experience sees it differently. Converting excess energy into opportunities: Example from P&P- Mrs. Bennet’s energy and how it gets converted into opportunities.
  • Energy gets released by aspiration, it gets organized to be productive and expressed through skills and attitudes of people.
  • Methods to increase one’s faith: Silent-will - Reliance on Mother helps to grow the faith
  • Spiritual Power to bring Grace lies in Faith: Mother doesn’t always give us everything that we want. She protects us from our misfortunes.
  • Belief vs Faith: Faith is the knowledge of the soul or the Psychic. Spiritual truth is “Mother will always do the best for you”. Mind accepting the faith converts it into a belief in the mind. Belief is that which the mind accepts without having the knowledge of the soul. Beliefs can be changed and confused. Faith is self-evident and unshakable.
  • Difference between Consecration and Faith: Faith is power and Consecration is an act. Consecration is to say “Thy Will and not My Will”. The power of consecration is dependent on the power of our faith.
  • Difference between surrender and Faith: Total faith leads to surrender. Faith is of the Knowledge and the Surrender is of the Will.
  • What is blind faith? Sri Karmayogi says if faith is the knowledge of the soul can it not become the knowledge of the mind? Presently the distant touch of the soul enables the Mind to rely on it.
  • Example of exhausting one’s faith in every situation from P&P - Perfection, and Progress: Jane refused to have a negative thought. This is a yogic quality that brought prosperity. She exercises spiritual patience to the maximum perfection. Speed attracts intensity and lack of this intensity and energy delayed her wedding.
  • Divine is behind all the challenges that we face - Faith is the means to go through the darkness to reach union with Divine. Darkness is an illusion. Savitri challenges this supernatural illusion and compels the divine to reveal itself. Spiritual darkness is a circumstance to reveal greater knowledge.
