Egoistic Initiatives and Life Response

Date:
February 1, 2022
Speaker(s):
Mr. Garry Jacobs
Notes:

Egoistic initiative is to be given up, but not action. Consecration is to offer the first of our actions to the divine, not to renounce action itself. Progress always comes by a shift from egoistic motives to non-egoistic. Pursuit of idealistic values is an expression of the movement away from ego. All higher accomplishment comes by renunciation of ego. Shifting from egoistic motive by consecration and surrender evokes life responses showing the greater potential that is concealed by adherence to ego. Non-reaction and detachment are the first step toward renunciation of egoistic initiative. Moving inside instead of reacting to external events is the first step to freedom and higher accomplishment.
