Favorite Child: Ego, Bias, Preference and Equality

Date:
March 15, 2022
Speaker(s):
Mr. Garry Jacobs
Notes:

Preference for one child over another, relative, friend and acquaintance is common and universal. It arises from ego and vital desire. In P&P, it leads Mrs Bennet to indulge Lydia and Mr. Bennet to give up responsibility for the raising of his children. Passive equality is to relate to every person without reaction, repulsion, disturbance or excitement and attraction. Active equality is to discover the positive values in each person, the hidden capacities and deeper spiritual presence. True equality should be coupled with the impersonal power of the higher will in us. Equality and power are complementary aspects of the Divine, both essential for progress and higher accomplishment. Ultimately it leads to manifestation of the ananda and love of the divine in all relations.
