Faith, Doubt, Experience and Spiritual Realization

All accomplishment depends on faith. Faith exists at all levels in all the parts of the being, from the physical faith of the body in its capacity to walk, run, jump, etc. That faith is always limited because it is based on unconsciousness and ignorance of the Divine Power in the world. All progress is by moving from reliance on lower faith to faith in the higher. Progress comes by raising our center of action from faith in lower nature to faith in the spirit, from physical to mental and mental to spiritual. Doubt plays an essential role at each step in the progress by helping us give up faith in the limitations imposed of the lower in order to acquire the higher faith. Mind gives us faith in accomplishing things that were considered impossible by the physical and vital, such as flying in the air or going to the moon. Savitri acquires the ultimate faith that Death is only a habit and our destiny is immortality in the physical being. Spiritual progress becomes conscious when we shift our faith from reliance on lower nature -- my health, strength, cleverness, appearance, age, wealth, status, importance, intelligence, authority and shift reliance to Mother, to higher nature which is Maha Shakti, and let Her act in our lives. Then we overcome the limitations imposed by the ego, desire, dualities and gunas, and anything becomes possible.
