Why does our effort to follow higher values and spiritual principles sometimes lead to greater problems?
The answer to this question depends on the specific circumstances. One possibility is we are not really following the spiritual principles as intended and may even be using them as a means for egoistic assertion and domination of others. Quiet, peaceful, cheerful, undisturbed, harmonious, pleasant behavior are signs we are doing it correctly. The opposite are signs we are not. Another possibility is that the source of the disturbance comes from some other apparently unrelated areas and we have broaden the approach to address it. The third is that the problems come become the opportunity is much greater and it requires greater energy and purification, in which case the problems that come are a means for our progress and addressing them properly is essential.
