Theory of Organisation

                                                                                                                                November  19,1999

In explaining a theory of social development, we came to emphasis the role of organisation and later the place of strategy. Our analytical and explanatory steps finally led us to pronounce on the theory of strategy. Now that the evolution of organisation in the context of centralization, decentralization and uncentralization is assuming great importance, the necessity to speak of the Theory of Organisation arise.

So far, our positions were that Organisation is the backbone of development, strategy its key power and the evolution of organisation lies along the chain of act - activities - systems - organisation - institution - culture - values. Also we said that the act is the primary unit, which in itself is a fully organised final product of energy into whose constitution we do not go as our field is only social development, not psychological development nor the structures of energy.

A wider field would be Theory of Creation whose eight levels contain the whole of which social development is confined to life as acted upon by mind. Organisation essentially and primarily belong to mind. We see as mind acts through understanding -- organisation of ideas - each plane in the chain has its own faculty for action.

Matter exists by form, life functions by movement, mind's faculty is understanding which is organisation of ideas, Supermind is the comprehension of the whole, Ananda is the sensation of existence, consciousness is the self-aware existence while existence is the choice of the Absolute. Thus the prerogative of the Infinite, existence, awareness, sensation, comprehension, understanding, movement and form are the various modes of the different planes.

We also historically know that when organisation came into being,

            1)  it made the impossible possible,

            2)  initiated a host of new, unknown acts

            3)  it related to every other aspect of society to exact new possibilities and

  4) in that process abridged time, space, energy, effort, material, money in the execution of existing ACTS.

It will be useful for us to consider some of the known organisations and their relations to individuals or other organisations so that we may now witness innumerable expressions of the above four phenomena. Before we take it up, we need to complete the significance of the idea of theory or theory of organisation. Naturally, it makes us think of several theories, a theory for each aspect. The theory of one leads us to theory of every other. Therefore we think of the Theory of Theories which is the Infinite's Self-Conception of form into which force of existence is compressed which evolves out of it through a rhythm and process.

Even this inquiry must be limited to the infinite evolving out of the finite constantly making the impossible possible as an expression of the reconciliation of the opposites. For instance, the aspirations of the seller and buyer are antithesis but when each takes the view of the other, the aspirations of each get fulfilled in an inconceivable new way.

The seller desires the customer to buy the maximum quantity for the highest price while the buyer desires to buy all his domestic needs at the lowest price. In the Encyclopedia Britannica we saw an utterly now phenomenon made possible by Internet by which the company raised its sale phenomenally and the reader gets his requirements for a third of the price, as the set's value came down from Rs.30,000 to 6000 for a CD disc. At last the set became free for the reader, bringing an enormous income from advertisement to the publishers.

When money was born it made possible conservation of excess energy, its movement across time and space, the capacity to multiply itself several fold and to offer ever new services to society with each of its new forms. Can we now think of such developments to the organisation of sales and purchase?

Theory of organisation

  • [Movement, breakdown of forms, ideas acting on form or movement release energies of different types known as physical energies, vital energies or mental energies.
  • Movement or a group of coordinated movements that can accomplish a result is skill that can grow to higher levels of capacity, talent or ability.
  • Energy directed becomes force which when passing through an organisation is power that produces results through skills
  • Acts falling into a system combine to produce a fixed pattern that comes to stay in the society as a structure to enable its new level of activity to perform repeatedly.

OR

  • Organisation, which is a coordinated structure of systems that combines acts according to a pattern, emerges as sustained social action and tries to come to stay as a permanent social instrument of existence and functioning.

OR

  • When society rises to a higher level of existence it creates fixed psychological structures all over the society that sustain the higher level of activity and this is known as social organisation.

OR

  • Social or physical or psychological structure that permanently supports a type of activity serving as its basic support.
