Power of Imagination for spiritual progress

Imagination is a power or faculty of mental consciousness like memory and thought. It is a power to look beyond what exists physically, vitally, mentally. Imagination is a basis for aspiration, accomplishment, discovery and creativity. To look from others point of view requires imagination. Imagination exists in a scale of degrees from pure fantasy to perceive the real ultimate truth or the reality now existent or yet to come in future. Imagination ranges from a conception of the impossible to a perception of the inevitable. For imagination to become reality requires aspiration, conviction based knowledge and faith. They serve as the basis for all progress. What accounts for the errors and pitfalls in imagination? Imagination misleads due to preference, desire, ignorance, fixed opinion, fear. Imagination leads toward higher truth and reality when it gives us the courage to search beyond what presently exists or is believed. How can we use imagination for our spiritual progress? By imagination we can envision what we cannot presently see or experience physically. Imagining the divine within us, around us or in others has the power to bring their consciousness.
